Rules

For Pistol and Rifle (Shotgun below)
  1. Safety is of paramount importance. All safety rules of the range must be followed.
  2. You may only use official SFC Stamped targets, electronic targets, Cibles Canada Targets for air pistol events or targets from the Canadian Cadet Program for the Daisy 853c air rifle.
  3. You can start at any level, but you can only win awards in order. 
  4. There is no time limit for completing a set of targets. 
  5. You can save targets with higher scores than the level you’re working on, to count towards more advanced awards later.
  6. You don't have to shoot the targets at the same time.
  7. If you shoot more than 10 shots, you lose the highest shots counting only the lowest  , and you lose one point for each shot over the ten shot limit.
  8. The Program Directors are responsible for ordering badges, collecting and counting the targets, recording the scores, and awarding badges to participants based on the RTS Level Tracker spreadsheet.
Rifle Specific 

You must use .22 LR for smallbore or any centerfire calibre for centerfire.

    • You must only load single rounds.
    • Any sights are allowed for benchrest, smallbore and centerfire rifles
    • For air rifle, only aperture (peep) sights are allowed (telescopic or other optical sights are forbidden)
Pistol Specific

You must use .22 LR for smallbore or any centerfire calibre for centerfire. Each target 10 shots. Each string 5 shots.

    • Slowfire You have 10 minutes for Centrefire and 5 min for Rimfire to complete the target (10 shots total)
    • Timed You have a 20 seconds to complete each series of 5 shots (10 shots total. 2 strings of 5 shots)
    • Rapid You have a 10 seconds to complete each series of 5 shots (10 shots total. 2 strings of 5 shots)


Air Rifle and Pistol 
    • You must use .177 air rifle or pistol
    • Telescopic or other optical sights are forbidden
Range Length and Targets





    * Benchrest can also be shot at 25 M using SFC-RIF-136 targets - scoring match.






    Scores on electronic targets are also accepted.

    Shotgun Rules

    1. Safety is of paramount importance. All safety rules of the range must be followed.
    2. Targets should be thrown as close as possible to the distance, angles and heights stated in official rule books for the sport.
    3. Targets should be shot in the manner of the sport rules (e.g. ISSF Skeet – gun down and delayed targets)
    4. You can start at any level, but you can only win awards in order. 
    5. There is no time limit for completing.
    6. Ammunition should be size 7-9 and up to 1 ¼ ounces of shot
    7. Any gauge shotgun allowed at the range, can be used.
    8. Targets for each medal level can be shot over several days but they should be consecutive.
    9. Club Program Directors are responsible for ordering badges, collecting score sheets, recording the scores, and giving badges to participants based on the online RTS Level Tracker spreadsheet.

    Please note that the RTS program does not provide an official SFC classification.

    To acquire classification, you can also compete in the Coast-to-Coast Championship.
